Meatfest 2012 hunk of the day!
Nothing like a summer festival in the park to bring out scantily clad men and women. This fashionable guy knows exactly how to dress to beat the heat and still look put together.
Ryan wears a LRG hat from Loop Clothing in Uptown Waterloo, a kitschy GSUS Sindustries t shirt from Gloss, amazing printed shorts from JOE FRESH and the oh so comfy (and kind) Classic Toms on his feet.
Our friend Ryan, exemplifies how to mix and match premium, mid range and bargain pieces to pull off a very current look all his own!
For those of you who may have missed it, Ribfest ran this weekend and thousands attended to chow down on BBQ Sauce slathered ribs, chicken and let's not forget the pulled pork!
The irony of it all is that Ryan Coulter is a vegetarian, but that doesn't mean he can't enjoy a little Ribfest action in Victoria Park this weekend.
There was some corn on the cob, baked potatoes and spring rolls for the veg crowd... and of course BEER!!!!!
Micro Breweries lined along the fences to pour samples of their suds to thirsty festival goers. Some of my favorite brews at this year's Ribfest and Craft Beer Show were Wellington's Trailhead Lager, Mill St. Original Organic and Cameron's Brewery Lager.
Hope you were one of the many people in Victoria Park, if you missed out... not to worry it's an annual thing! See you next time:)

Gloss Gets Nailed...
errrr......... Gloss gets a manicure.
At gloss the Girls want everyone to feel their best and look their best all the time!! But sometimes, even though you know you deserve a treat- its hard to go out and spend $40 to get your nails done. So here we will show you how to give yourself a pretty manicure that you can do at home.
Step One- Get comfortable, have a glass of wine, or a pretty cocktail, maybe a bath and turn on some Meatloaf, or Zappa (whatever mellows you out).
Step Two- Assemble your materials. You will need three different colours of polish for this design (we used Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet, Blue Me Away!, and White On), an emery board and a precision brush.
Step Three- Make sure your nails are clean and neatly filed into a shape that you like.
Step Four- Apply two coats of your base colour and let your nails dry for a few minutes.
Step Five- Using your second colour, paint the top half of a heart shape (make two dots, then use your brush to connect them) on the corners of your nails, let this dry for a few more minutes. We found that this step works better with a precision brush than the bottle brush- but you don't have to use expensive ones, ours are plastic brushes from the dollar store.
Step Six- Prepare an even finer brush (we cut about half of the bristles off of ours) and a small amount of your third colour, we suggest that you use a small dot of it so that you don't get too much polish on your brush for the next step.
Step Seven- Paint a thin line on the edge of your heat shape, and paint two small loops to create the bow.
Step Eight- Paint a small dot on the centre of your bow using your second colour of polish.
Step Nine- Paint a top coat on all of your nails. Wait for it to dry and adorn your fingers with many rings!
Pretty!
Our colours were inspired by this O.P.I. collection of Nicki Minaj minis.
Step Ten- Get into your best Gloss duds grab your girls, or your guy.... or your girl, and head on out for the night.

Gloss Jello Shot Tutorial
GLOSSY YELLO SHOTS
Step#1, Actually you have to shop for all this stuff first, but after the LCBO and the grocery store, this is what you need to do.
Cut your fruit of choice in half, I started with lemons. Take a sharp knife (be careful, don't drink the ingredients before doing this step) or if you are half in the bag already, use your CLEAN hands to claw out the pulpy fruit from the rind, leaving behind a beautiful hollowed out shell.
Step #2 Assemble ingredients for photo shoot....
I chose Compliments brand lemon flavoured jello (saved a quarter!) and the delicious Pinnacle whipped creme flavoured vodka imported from France cause we're fancy like that. You have to prioritize, and seeing as we wanted the fancy booze, we skimped on the jello.
Step #3 Take picture to brag to friends.
Step #4 Mix one cup boiling water with jello powder to dissolve and then add one cup of alcohol to the mixture. Stir well and lick the spoon!
Step#5 Pour jello/alcohol mixture into hollowed out rinds. Using a muffin tin works really well. I know this is not a muffin tin...just wait for the lime pictures. Chill to set overnight.
Step#6 Place lemon shell flat side down and use a sharp knife to cut fruit into wedges. My knife was not that sharp, therefore I mangled a few good shots, but ate them to hide the evidence.
Try other variations like the kicker above, tequila and lime. Whoo! This is some strong stuff and lime rinds are tough to cut through so I found cutting these from the top was easier.
Look at how cute these little green guys turned out! You'd never know how strong they are until you try them. The lemon ones are delicious! Lemon meringue magic!
Of course we had to try them out for ourselves!
Who wouldn't?

Gloss Apolgizes
The Girls would like to send their condolences to Tina Dang, who was featured in a post earlier today. Thanks to some super sleuthing by Gloss Top Model Contestant Kristina Mahendran, we are able to identify Tina Dang as the cutie we met last night!
Street Styles at Gloss
Believe it or not, the Cruising on King event last night was a prime occasion for spotting some excellent street style downtown Kitchener. Seriously, it came as a shock to the Girls as well, but hidden between the mullets, muscle tanks and mayhem on the street were some serious style gems!
Below is the favourite outfit of the night, featuring some amazing Sam Edelman sandals and a classic Marc Jacobs cross body bag. You'll notice that while Emily thought to take the picture and get details about the shoes, she neglected to ask this lovely girl for her name. (We've mentioned that Emily's not stupid... right?)
So kudos to you, nameless girl, for the best outfit at Cruising on King. (P.S. If you see this, email us your name and we will make the appropriate amendments to this post.)
